Mandarin Orange is rich in vitamin C and flavonoids. Studies have shown that one Mandarin Orange (130 grams) supplies nearly 100 percent of the recommended daily dietary intake of vitamin C! More recently, researchers have been studying the effectiveness of Mandarin Orange in treating liver cancer. It also lowers cholesterol and high blood pressure.
Therapeutic constituents :
Hesperidin, a very important flavonoid present in Mandarin Orange, lowers cholesterol and high blood pressure. It is also a good source of fiber, vitamin B (including vitamins B1, B2, B6), carotenes, pectin, potassium and folic acid.
- Vitamin C, present in abundance in Mandarin Orange, is a powerful antioxidant. It protects cells from damage by free radicals.
